Trading Range:

Nifty opened gap down at 11739 on Wednesday and made a high and low of 11783 and 11640 respectively before closing negative at 11679.

Review/Outlook:

For the day, support for Nifty exists at 11610 and 11540 levels whereas resistance for Nifty stands at 11750 and 11820 levels.

Review/Outlook:

Bank Nifty opened gapdown at 30280, made a high of 30515, low of 30132, and closed negative at 30307. For the day, support for Bank Nifty exists at 30100 and 29900 levels whereas resistance for Bank Nifty stands at 30500 and 30700 levels.

Steel major JSW Steel on Wednesday said Fitch has revised the outlook on the company to ‘negative’ from ‘stable’. “Fitch has affirmed Long-Term Issuer Default (IDR) Rating to ‘BB’ The outlook on the IDR has been revised to negative from stable,” the steel major said in a filing to the BSE. (BL).
Bharti Infratel is said to be hesitant about going ahead with a plan involving a merger with Indus Towers and a buyout of 7 per cent equity stake from Vodafone Idea in the resultant entity. While almost all clearances have been obtained, the company has sought to extend the process by another two months. (ET).
Apollo Hospitals has launched Amazon Alexa Skill - Ask Apollo to enable users to find the nearest Apollo Hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and book appointments with doctors of their choice using simple voice commands. (BS).
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Wednesday unveiled the Vellfire, the new luxurious self-charging hybrid electric multi-purpose vehicle in India. The company has already sold more than 6,00,000 units globally and has introduced Vellfire in CBU form, priced at Rs.79.5 lakh ex-showroom. (ET).
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries on Wednesday said its wholly-owned subsidiary had launched Riomet ER, used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, in the US market. (BL).
The Board of Directors of Apollo Tyres on Wednesday has approved an issuance of compulsorily convertible preference shares in the company worth Rs.1,080 crore (around $150 million) to an affiliate of Warburg Pincus. (ET).
In a bid to manage inventory better and check potential losses, state-owned Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) will not buy extra crude to take advantage of the drop in prices due to the coronovirus outbreak, a top executive has said. (BS).
Tata Motors board has approved the committee for raising Rs500cr through the issuance of non-convertible debentures on private placement basis. (BL).

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the launch of the National Mission for Technical Textiles with a total allocation of Rs.1,480 crore for a four-year period in line with the announcement made in Budget 2020-21 earlier this month. (BL).
Hyundai Motor India on Wednesday said it has launched a new variant of its premium hatchback Grand i10 Nios priced at Rs 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom). (ET).
Contrary to the expectation of a fall in metal prices due to the coronavirus impact, steel companies have hiked hot-rolled coil prices for the sixth consecutive time, by Rs.500-750 a tonne, to Rs.39,200. The price hike will come into effect on March 1. (BL).
CRISIL on Wednesday said it has completed the acquisition of a 100 per cent stake in Greenwich Associates. The transaction was announced on December 19 last year. (ET).

DJIA and NASDAQ Composite

US markets investors looking to get back into the stock market once the selling stampede finally subsides might not want to chase the initial bounce on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Index closed at 26,958, down 123.77 points by 0.46%. The Standard & Poors 500 index closed at 3,116, down 11.82 points by 0.38%. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 8,981, up 15.16 points by 0.17%.

FTSE 100

UK markets finished on a mixed note on Wednesday, with bargain hunters stepping in even as health officials around the globe sounded the alarm over the near-pandemic status of the ongoing outbreak of the new China coronavirus. The FTSE 100 index closed at 7,042, up 24.59 points by 0.35%.

Asian share markets slipped on Thursday, struggling to find a footing as the rapid global spread of the coronavirus left investors on edge and seeking safety in gold and bonds. Nikkei is currently trading at 22,061, down 365.68 points by 1.63%.

Precious Metals

Gold XAU= rose 0.3% to $1,644.30 per ounce on Thursday.

Base Metals

Lead was the worst performer on the London Metal Exchange at the close on Wednesday February 26, wiping out all gains it made on Tuesday.

Crude Oil

U.S. crude CLc1 made a fresh one-year low of $48.17 per barrel in Asian trade on Thursday.
