Trading Range:

Nifty opened flat at 11726 on Monday and made a high and low of 11754 and 11670 respectively before closing negative at 11700.

Review/Outlook:

For the day, support for Nifty exists at 11630 and 11570 levels whereas resistance for Nifty stands at 11760 and 11830 levels.

Review/Outlook:

Bank Nifty opened gap up at 30681, made a high of 30784, low of 30528, and closed negative at 30602. For the day, support for Bank Nifty exists at 30400 and 30200 levels whereas resistance for Bank Nifty stands at 30800 and 31000 levels.

Kalyan Jewellers plans to invest Rs.300 crore to expand its presence in southern States by opening eight new showrooms. It plans two showrooms each in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and one each in Telengana and Kerala. (BL).
The last date for all the creditors of Jet Airways to submit a claim of dues is July 4. In a public announcement on Monday, the grounded airline’s Insolvency Resolution Professional (IRP) invited lenders, vendors and other debtors to submit their claims by that date, with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) taking up the case for hearing on July 5. State-owned LIC has sold over 5.25 crore shares, representing about 2 per cent stake, of Axis Bank through open market transaction.. (BL).
The promoters of Emami Group have undertaken a stake sale of 10% in Emami Limited for raising ~Rs1,230cr. This amount is intended to be used primarily for further reducing debt at the promoter level. The stake sale occurred on the floor of the stock exchange to marquee institutional investors. The total promoter stake in Emami Limited subsequent to the stake sale, stands at a controlling majority of 52.74%. The promoters intend to maintain this controlling majority stake in Emami Limited without further diluting it. (ET).

Capital markets regulator SEBI plans to tighten its norms for encumbrance disclosure by promoters of listed firms, amid growing number of cases of shares seeing a free fall due to post-default distress sale of pledged securities by lenders. (BL).
After a delayed onset, the monsoon is on a familiar roller-coaster ride this June, leaving a deficit that threatens to breach the seven-year record of 42 per cent seen in 2014. With a week to go, June has already totted up a deficit of 38 per cent, and unless a dramatic recovery takes place, it could potentially add to the list of ‘failures’ of the four-month season. (ET).
India and Japan will launch an ambitious $187-million fund of funds to promote start-ups when Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe at the G-20 meet in Osaka this week. (BL).
The logistics sector is likely to add 1.49 lakh new jobs in the April-September period of this financial year mainly triggered by the growing online seller base in smaller cities, according to a report. The TeamLease Services biannual ‘Employment Outlook’ report for the April-September 2019-20 estimated that the logistic sector will witness a growth of 3 per cent adding 1.49 lakh jobs. The report was based on a research done across 19 sectors and 14 geographies surveying 775 enterprises in India as well as 85 businesses across the globe. (ET).

DJIA and NASDAQ Composite

US markets closed with some mixed results on the first day of trading this week on Monday as geopolitical tensions remained firmly in focus. The Dow Jones Index closed at 26,728, up 8.41 points by 0.03%. The Standard & Poor s 500 index closed at 2,945, down 5.11 points by 0.17%. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 8,006, down 26.01 points by 0.32%.

FTSE 100

UK markets were little changed on Monday amid lingering tensions between the US and Iran, and as investors eyed this week's G20 meeting. The FTSE 100 index closed at 7,417, up 9.19 points by 0.12%.

Asian stocks traded mixed Tuesday with little direction from a lackluster U.S. session. Treasuries held gains, while the dollar remained under pressure. Nikkei is currently trading at 21,267, down 18.70 points by 0.09%.

Precious Metals

Gold prices continued their march toward a six-year high on Monday, with weakness in the U.S. dollar and 10-year Treasury yield, expectations for lower interest rates among global central banks and geopolitical concerns all contributing to haven demand for the precious metal.

Base Metals

Zinc’s three-month price on the London Metal Exchange was up by more than 2% at the close of trading on Monday June 24, settling at just under $2,500 per tonne. Just under 10,000 lots were exchanged.

Crude Oil

Oil prices were steady on Tuesday, supported by worries over conflict between Iran and the United States but pressured by concerns about a potential decline in demand for crude.
