Nifty opened gap up at 11196 on Monday and made a high and low of 11234 and 11113 respectively before closing negative at 11126.
Review/Outlook:
For the day, support for Nifty exists at 11070 and 11000 levels whereas resistance for Nifty stands at 11210 and 11280 levels.

Bank Nifty opened up at 27910, made a high of 28185, low of 27568, and closed negative at 27768. For the day, support for Bank Nifty exists at 27500 and 27300 levels whereas resistance for Bank Nifty stands at 28000 and 28200 levels. |

Reeling under a prolonged slowdown, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) reduced its production by 17.48 per cent in September, making it the eighth straight month when the country’s largest car maker lowered its output. The company produced a total of 1,32,199 units in September as against 1,60,219 units in the year-ago month, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a regulatory filing. Passenger vehicles’ production last month stood at 1,30,264 units as against 1,57,659 units in September 2018, a decline of 17.37 per cent, it added. (BL). |
Tata Motors has not produced a single unit of its entry-level car Nano in the first nine months of 2019. The last sale of Tata Motors’ small car in the domestic market was February ― just one unit ― although the company is yet to officially announce that the model has been discontinued. (ET).

Drug firm Bliss GVS Pharma has said its subsidiary Kremoint Pharma has cleared an inspection of its Ambernath facility in Maharashtra by the US health regulator. The inspection by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) was conducted from June 17-20, Bliss GVS Pharma said in a statement. (BL). |

IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company on Monday said it has defaulted on redemption of preference shares worth Rs.39.5 crore in favour of Vistra ITCL (India) Ltd. The due date of redemption was September 30. (BL). |
Drug firm Aurobindo Pharma on Monday said it has received seven observations from the US health regulator for its unit-7 in Telangana. The United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) conducted a Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) inspection at the company’s unit-7 manufacturing facility from September 19 to 27, Aurobindo Pharma said in a filing to the BSE. U GRO Capital, a technology-enabled lender to small businesses, has entered into a loan co-origination partnership with Bank of Baroda. For BSE-listed U GRO Capital, this is the first loan co-origination partnership. The partnership aims to offer customised lending solutions at a competitive rate of interest with a significant reduction in turn-around time to SMEs. This by deploying U GRO Capital’s co-lending technology platform ‘GRO-Xstream’, the company said in a statement. (ET). |
Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) on Monday reported a 16 per cent rise in domestic output of steel and related products at 1.58 million tonnes during the September quarter of the ongoing financial year. The production in the year-ago period stood at 1.36 million tonnes, JSPL said in a BSE filing. Sales during July-September 2019 were 10 per cent higher year-on-year at 1.46 million tonnes, it added. Drug firm Indoco Remedies on Monday said it has received approval from the US health regulator for Rasagiline tablets, used for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. The company has received the final nod for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) for Rasagiline tablets in the strengths of 0.5 mg and 1 mg from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), Indoco Remedies said in a regulatory filing. Quoting IMS 2018 data, Indoco Remedies said the market size of this product in the US is USD 105 million. (ET). |
Nippon Life Insurance, Japan’s largest Life Insurance company and a global financial services conglomerate today announced the integration of Nippon India Mutual Fund (erstwhile Reliance Mutual Fund) into their global unified Asset management fold, by becoming the single largest shareholder in the company. Change in Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management (RNAM) name will follow soon. (BS). |
Tata Motors: Jaguar September sales were down 15.2 percent year-on-year to 16,235 units. Land Rover September sales rose 6.9 percent on a yearly basis to 40,597 units. Second quarter Jaguar Land Rover sales fell 0.7 percent year-on-year to 1.28 lakh units. And China sales continued to recover in the September quarter. (BQ). |
Minda Industries: The company is set to acquire 100 percent stake of Delvis Group which is engaged in automotive lighting design and engineering for €21 million (Rs 164 crore). Transaction is subject to appropriate regulatory approvals and is expected to complete in two months. (BQ). |

US-listed Bloom Energy and EnergyPower announced a joint effort to deploy an integrated solution for supplying clean, reliable power generated from municipal and agri waste to local Indian businesses, a company statement said. In more news, Online travel start-up RailYatri is planning to expand its ‘IntrCity’ bus service in the country over the next two years by increasing its fleet to 2,000 from the existing 65 with an investment of up to $100 million, a top official said. Coal shipments handled by India’s 12 major state-run ports during April-September rose by 15.25 per cent to 29.29 million tonne (MT), according to a ports’ body. The state-run ports had handled 25.41 MT of coking coal cargo in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Shipments of thermal or steam coal, however, declined by 13.20 per cent to 44.87 million tonne, the Indian Ports Association (IPA) data showed. (ET).

India's overall oil meal exports tumbled to 12.51 lakh tonnes for the first six month period April-September 2019 as against 14.99 lakh tonnes reported in the same period last year, indicating a dip of 17 per cent on year-on-year basis. As per the data compiled by the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA), the sharpest fall is seen in the soybean meal exports at 347,785 tonnes, which is down from 417,157 tonnes for the period. For September alone, soybean meal exports tumbled to mere 19,152 tonnes as against 95,450 tonnes in the preceding month, the SEA's provisional data revealed. (BL). |
State-run National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) on Monday said it had achieved record sales at 27 lakh tonnes during the first half of the current financial year. The company’s fertiliser sales stood at 21.62 lakh tonnes during April-September period of the last fiscal. (ET). |

US markets closed firmly lower yet again on Tuesday after the US expanded its trade blacklist to include China's top artificial intelligence firms. The Dow Jones Index closed at 26,164,
down 313.98 points by 1.19%. The Standard & Poors 500 index closed at 2,893, down 45.73 points by 1.56%. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 7,824, down 132.52 points by 1.67%.
FTSE 100
UK markets finished in the red on Tuesday as optimism over upcoming Sino-US trade talks faded, but a weaker pound kept a lid on losses even as hopes of a Brexit deal dimmed. The FTSE 100 index closed at 7,143, down 54.73 points by 0.76%. |

Precious Metals
Gold prices gave up earlier gains on Tuesday to finish lower for a third consecutive session, pressured by strength in the dollar, a day ahead of the release of minutes from last month’s Federal Reserve meeting.
Base Metals
The London Metal Exchange three-month copper price fell by 0.6% at the close of trading on Tuesday October 8 to $5,682 per tonne compared with $5,722 per tonne the previous day despite a doubling of lots traded from this morning, with just shy of 16,500 lots having changed hands by the afternoon kerb.
Crude Oil
Oil futures ended slightly lower Tuesday as optimism faded over prospects for progress in high-level U.S.-China trade talks set for later this week. |
