Trading Range:

Nifty opened gap up at 11965 on Friday and made a high and low of 11982 and 11798 respectively before closing negative at 11811.


For the day, support for Nifty exists at 11760 and 11680 levels whereas resistance for Nifty stands at 11880 and 11950 levels.


Bank Nifty opened gap up at 31523, made a high of 31661, low of 31323, and closed flat at 31476. For the day, support for Bank Nifty exists at 31300 and 31100 levels whereas resistance for Bank Nifty stands at 31700 and 31900 levels.

Corporate News
The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has directed the Mumbai bench of the NCLT to pass an order over the insolvency plea against 15 Videocon Group companies within next three weeks. (BL).
Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) is planning to open 251 retail outlets in Karnataka and Kerala in the next few years, according to M Venkatesh, Managing Director of the company. (ET).
The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has cut vehicle production for the fifth consecutive month in June, according to a regulatory filing. (BL).
Murugappa Group company EID Parry has chalked out plans to tap ethanol production at its facilities. The company has obtained in-principle approval from the Department of Food and Public distribution, for its expansion under the central government scheme, extending financial assistance to mills for enhancement and augmentation of Ethanol production capacity, EID Parry said. The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd - Visakhapatnam steel plant Chairman and Managing Director P.K Rath on Friday launched the commissioning activities of the new coke oven battery--5 project complex with the lighting up of the chimney of the battery. (ET).
Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) on Friday said it plans to manufacture a range of new electrified vehicles at its manufacturing plant in UK’s Castle Bromwich, a move that would help safeguard thousands of jobs in the country. (BL).
Sanitaryware and lighting solutions company, Jaquar Group has expanded its Bhiwadi plant for lighting in Rajasthan with an investment of Rs.150-crore. (BS).
Economy and Sector News
The Union Budget 2019-20 has proposed to extend the lower rate of 25 % Corporate Tax to all companies with annual turnover up to Rs400cr.  Currently, this rate is only applicable to companies having an annual turnover up to Rs250cr. Presenting the General Budget 2019-20 in the Parliament today, the Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman said, “This will cover 99.3% of the companies. Now only 0.7% of companies will remain outside this rate”. In more news, The fine print of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s Budget reveals more pain for stock market investors. The tax outgo for a large number of them, including foreign portfolio investors (FPIs), domestic and foreign individuals and companies, will increase by up to 19 per cent in terms of the long- term capital gains tax (LTCG) and the short-term capital gains tax (STCG). The effective rate of peak LTCG and STCG will be 14.25 per cent and 21.37 per cent, respectively. Currently, this peak rate is 11.96 per cent and 17.94 per cent for LTCG and STCG, respectively. (BL).
India’s exporters and importers will have to pay more on freight as global container lines start levying a war risk surcharge ranging between $36 and $42 for shipping cargo containers to and from the Arabian Gulf transiting through the Strait of Hormuz in the wake of escalating tensions in the region. (ET).
Above normal to normal rainfall over Central India and adjoining West Maharashtra helped lower the rainfall deficit for the country as a whole to 21 per cent till Sunday (from 33 per cent at June-end). The Northern and southern parts of the country nurse varying deficits at the end of the first week of the second monsoon month of July, which is usually the rainiest of the four months. (BL).
Petrol price was on Saturday hiked by a minimum Rs.2.40 per litre and diesel by Rs.2.36 after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman raised taxes on the fuels to part-fund her Budget for 2019-20. (ET).

DJIA and NASDAQ Composite

US markets finished slightly lower on Friday following a stronger than expected uptick in hiring last month, which called into question the speed - if not the likelihood - of interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve over what remained of 2019. The Dow Jones Index closed at 26,922, down 43.88 points by 0.16%. The Standard & Poors 500 index closed at 2,990, down 5.41 points by 0.18%. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed at 8,162, down 8.44 points by 0.10%.

FTSE 100

UK markets finished Friday’s session in the red, as investors digested better-than-expected US non-farm payrolls data, with miners and housebuilders under pressure. The FTSE 100 index closed at 7,553, down 50.44 points by 0.66%.

Asian shares slipped on Monday as investors wagered on a less aggressive policy easing in the United States, while the Turkish lira held near two-week lows after the country’s president dismissed its central bank governor over the weekend. Nikkei is currently trading at 21,595, down 150.93 points by 0.69%.

Spot gold XAU= fell 0.2% to $1,397.03 an ounce in Monday.

Base Metals

Base metals other than nickel closer lower on the London Metal Exchange on Friday July 5 in thin volumes after the release of weak macroeconomic data from the United States.

Crude Oil

Oil prices rose on Monday with Brent crude futures LCOc1, the international benchmark for oil prices, up 9 cents at $64.32 per barrel while U.S. crude added 8 cents to $57.59.
